How to Keep it Cozy With Pantones New Colour of the Year

Just before the new year hit, Pantone announced the new colour of the year, Ultra Violet. A deep, strong colour.
Now, purchasing a sofa set in the colour, or painting an entire room in this colour may not be a commitment you're ready to dive into, so I suggest everyone proceed with caution! That being said, there are many ways that you can ease your way into using this stunning colour and still keep your home cozy for the rest of the winter months.

Feeling inspired I decided to do some sourcing and make a mood board to demonstrate. I will also try to include product sourcing as I go.
As most of us have packed our Christmas décor away, we are left with a space that feels a bit empty and the new year usually is leaving us thirsty for an update. This space I have created is a cozy, contemporary and fun space.
Now purchasing a new sofa set might be out of your budget after the holidays, but here I chose the Tulum sofa and arm chair from Urban Barn. The variegated look mimics the look of a chunkier weave of fabric. I paired these with the Griffin Reclaimed Wood coffee table and side tables from Pottery Barn.
To use the colour of the year in the space, I used the Chichi, Ellie and Mongolian Toss cushions from Urban Barn. I chose different tints and shades of the colour and different textures to add visual interest to the space. I also added a piece of wall art into the design that is in the true hue of the colour, Purple Star from pottery barn and the Amina throw from urban barn. Too coordinate with the rich violet, purple colours I threw in some gold to give a few pieces of glam that pop! The Chilton lantern candle holder and the Cassar table lamp from urban barn. For more lighting I threw in the Aura Floor lamp from, again, Urban Barn.
So as you can see, its not hard to give your home a trendy face lift with this years new colours. Have fun testing and exploring to find a design that you love!
