My Experience Making a Holiday Wreath

Christmas is quickly sneaking up on us, and this past week and a bit I've been working on my wreath making skills. I just finished my first attempt this afternoon. I kept it classic, yet simple with the use of pine picks, along with poinsettia and holly berry picks. I also purchased an 18" wreath form from Canadian Tire, which I will leave the link to at the end of this post. I learned that its a task that requires a lot of patience, which I don't have much of some days, but I managed to make myself take breaks away from it when I was finding myself getting frustrated. You're choice of floral wire that you choose is also something to give some thought. I started off with buying a wire that was fairly flat, basically comparable to twist ties. I found it just did not get the job done, so once I ran out of it, I switched to a thinner, 26 gauge floral wire by Flora Craft that I purchased at Wal-Mart. It worked much better, held its shape and tension, and it should last me a while seeing as it comes with 270ft (82.3m) on the roll. I'll leave the link to it as well just in case you want to give it a try. My last bit of food for thought, always buy more picks or material then you think you need. I had to make more than one trip to the store for more pine picks because I miss judged by a lot. More than you need is always better if you accidentally ruin some, plus you can keep them for future projects. Below is a picture of my finish product.

On my Facebook page, I announced that I will be taking orders for wreaths up until November 30th, so don't delay! I'm open to trying different styles, I'm actually planning on trying out making one with Christmas ornaments and making a tutorial from it to post here on the blog. Pricing will run roughly from $30-$50. Shoot me an email, or Facebook message if you follow me on there, and we can discuss your ideas and get your wreath made in time for the holidays.
